student progress
Ocean Shore does not use traditional A-F report cards. Instead, there are two formal, thirty minute conferences every year (November and April) that provide parents with specific information about their child's progress. Teachers use informal and formal assessment along with classroom work examples to substantiate their evaluations on the district-provided, standards-based progress reports. In addition to the traditional academic areas, students are assessed for their development in life skills, art and ability to work cooperatively.
Parent participation provides many informal opportunities to observe your child at work and discuss your child's progress. There is no better way to understand your child and their needs than to see them at work and play in their school.
