parent commitment
Parents in Ocean Shore School agree to complete the following commitment:
- One special project per family per year.
- Fund-raising.
- Attendance at all three general meetings.
- Completion of 100% of the required hours agreed to in the contract.
The number of hours currently required from each family is as follows:
- 1 child - 95 hours per year per family (85 hours for kindergarten)
- 2 or more children - 145 hours
There are many ways to fulfill the commitment, such as: aiding in the classroom, driving on field trips, special projects (during or outside of school hours, see the Special Projects section for more detail), library assistance, administrative jobs, alternative service, computer lab, or childcare.
The program works because we work.
